“You’ve got to know when to hold ’em. Know when to fold ’em. Know when to walk away. And know when to run.”
I want to start this issue with the most important thing, love. This month issue is dedicated to Carla, I am sure she will be ok soon, but in the meantime we will help her as much as we can.
Gutenberg is still part of the news, of course and with some interesting dates that we got from Matt. The other big news is the purchase of StudioPress from WPEngine, it is going to be interesting to see how this evolves. We have also some nice readings, specially the one wrote by Brian Gardner about his entrepreneur journey.
I hope you enjoy it. See you next month!
WPLovesCarla
This is an special link. Carla is a member of the Spanish WordPress community, and she is having a rough time. As a freelancer, it is complicated to keep working and earn money when you face problems like those, so the Spanish community decided to help her to focus on her fight raising some money to pay the bills. Share the website. Love
Gutenberg Road Map
During the WordCamp Europe, Matt Mullenwerg made his usual conference talking about the future of WordPress, and this month Gutenberg was the center of the event, of course. He shared what it seems a RoadMap for the future months for Gutenberg. I do not think it is a real one, at least on dates, but at least we know what the plan is. You can watch the whole keynote on WordPress.tv. WordPress Gutenberg

WPEngine acquires StudioPress
I was not expecting this. You can read also the StudioPress blog post with Brian Gardner (StudioPress former owner) thoughts. As far as I know, Brian Gardner and all the team is moving along, but my experience with both companies has been too different that I am not sure about that. Also, it is common for the seller to do promises that everything will be the same or better, but they cannot promise on thing they do not control anymore. Let´s see. Hosting WordPress

WordCamp Europe 2019
June 20–22, Berlin, Germany | #WCEU
Because this space was available, I decided to “sponsor” this event here. If the space is not reserved, I will use it to sponsor something I consider interesting. It could be content, a tool, an app, an event, a course, a service. or maybe just an interesting website.

WordPress Vulnerability discovered
The people from ripstech.com have posted a vulnerability that affects all WordPress installs up to 4.9.6. They say that they notified the core team 7 months ago and they decided to go public because they have ignored them. It is a pity that this needs to happen to fix a vulnerability. You can go to this github repo and install that patch or wait for the soon to come WordPress 4.9.7 that will fix the issue. Vulnerability WordPress

Google and HTTP
Another point of view about google and the https. you should know that google is kind of forcing everyone to move into https, for a safer network. I love to read things that make me think a little more. Security

Another way to publish/find your job
This month we do not have any sponsored jobs, so I am posting this web page instead. It is a great new project that try to improve the whole process of finding a job, with transparency as the most important thing.
